House on a Square

Contemporary refurbishment
of an 1860 split level Victorian
terrace house in Dublin 4

House on a Square

On a quiet residential square in Sandymount, Dublin 4, this project involved the complete refurbishment and fit out of a split level Victorian terrace house built in 1860

The brief was to take the existing 85 sqm two bedroom derelict house and extend it to become a comntemporary 150sq three bedroom house on an extremely tight and narrow site.

Once the refurb and extension were complete, we then undertook a full fit-out to include all the built in joinery, the kitchen, sanitary ware, lighting, furniture and finishes to provide a turn key project. All joinery is bespoke and was designed from the inception of the project for each particular space as part of an integral flow for the plan and the look and feel of the overall palette. The result is modern and fresh marrying the old with the new. Original features are sensitively enhanced and showcased along with new contemporary finishes and features such as the curved stairs and the poured concrete floor.
